Pizza Ring

mami kerekenHello Everyone!pizza guy

I know it’s been a while but I was very busy with book signings, however now I’m back and I hope you’ll 🙂 forgive me.

Today I’m sharing with you a very unique pizza recipe that would be suitable as party food, dinner, lunch or a pizza ring without backgroundquick, tasty snack for the entire family.

You know I love to come up with new recipes and share them with you and this one is a definite keeper.

TIP

Use different toppings ever you make this pizza to make it unique.  I usually make it once a week, but I never use the same toppings.

herbed dinner rolls 2You may also use leftover pizza dough to make delicious dinner roll that you can serve in place of bread with soups, roasts or as a sandwich bread.  You may also use the entire dough to make dinner rolls or bread.

I like to mix together a tbsp. of unsalted, melted butter (or olive oil) with 1 clove of grated garlic and fresh herbs such as cilantro, oregano, thyme or parsley.

INGREDIENTSlisztes zsak

  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugarsalt talban bright
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 pack or 1 tbsp. dry active yeast
  • 1 cup of warm water

Place sugar and yeast into a cup or mug containing the warm (not hot) water and cover with plastic wrap or a small plate (or saucer) for about 5 minutes or until it gets foamy.  Remember, never place yeast into hot liquid as it would kill the yeast.

You may add herbs or cheese to the dough.

Once yeast is foamy, place everything into a large mixing bowl and work together.  Form a ball, pat with a little olive oil and place back into the bowl.  Cover and place at a warm place.  I usually like to turn on the oven to very low and place the bowl on top of the stove where it would get some gentle heat form the oven.

Leave to rise for about 30 minutes.  I like to use a pizza pan to bake my pizza.  Simply spread pizza dough around the pan using your fingertips.

You may use any toppings that you or your family likes.  Let your imagination guide you.

ketchupPIZZA SAUCE

I make my own pizza sauce with 2 tbsp. ketchup, pinch of salt,  1/2 tsp dry oregano, 1/2 tsp olive oil and 1 clove of grated garlic.

MAKING PIZZA

Once you spread pizza dough around the pan, take your meat scissors or a sharp knife (scissors are better) and cut four slashes into the middle of the dough as seen on the photo.  PIZZA DOUGH BEVAGVA

Spread the pizza sauce around the pizza dough stopping about 1/2 inch (1 cm) from the outer edge and right before you reach the cut middle part of the dough.  Add your toppings in any order you’d like and sprinkle with cheese.  Remember to leave some for the finishing touch.  Fold the dough by picking up one of the wedges from the middle and pinch it to the outer edge.  Do this until you finished the all of the wedges.

Brush entire pizza with olive oil and sprinkle each wedge fold with cheese.  Leave for 20 minutes.  Pre-heat the oven to 375F (180C) and bake until golden brown (about 20 minutes).
